Ukiyo is the Japanese expression for living in the present moment. It's a term that we believe perfectly captures the essence of our small knitting universe, as, for us, that's always the feeling we experience when we have needles and yarn in our hands. In addition to the name, we are generally inspired by the Japanese style, as we believe that with their graphic lines, delightful textures, and overall simplicity, they consistently demonstrate that beauty often lies in the simple. We are a mother and daughter duo who have chosen to start Ukiyo Knit. Both of us bring a background from the fashion industry, and with a shared passion for knitting and slow fashion, we have decided to venture into developing patterns together.
